Hi Ladies. I have to make a maid of honor speech in two weeks for my brother and FSIL's wedding. The problem is...I'm not sure what to say. I could tell a hundred stories about my brother, but I don't really have many stories about my FSIL...as we are not that close. Should I just stick to words of advice or should I include a story about my brother?

Re: Maid of Honor Speech...
I think the rule of thumb is you tell a story about the person you are closer too, and then if possible a story about the two together, or why you think they will be great together. Personal is always better!

Re: Maid of Honor Speech...
Perhaps a little of both. My best friend (since we were 12) introduced me to my DH, she made a speech that made me cry, we've been together almost 10 yrs and she talked about how we grew as people, etc.
Talk about how your brother talks about her...what does he do? smile, sparkle in his eye...etc. How they met?..how you met her...how he proposed....funny stories...etc...
good luck

I would def. make it personal, since he is your brother but then bring in how happy you are that he found her and give some advice too
