What type of wedding are you having? If there are any readings involved you can have her do one.

Maid of Honor/Best Friend Dilemma
My friend dedicated her bouquet to me and gave it to me during the reception as the Dj announced it. It was very touching and it was her way of making me feel special.

If you opt to make her 2nd MOH, be sure to get your sister's opinion before asking your friend. I originally planned it to have two MOHs, and my sister was very hurt that she had to share the title with someone else. In the end, everything worked out fine. I hope my experience can save you some potential grief.

I agree--make sure you think about your sister's reaction. I don't think my sister would appreciate it if I took away her starring role! I could never do that.

Im sure your best friend understands the situation. There are a lot of things that your best friend can help with that wont overshadow your MOH.
Family is forever ... not to imply that your best friend wont be.

Re: Maid of Honor/Best Friend Dilemma
I had the same problem in picking my MOH... I eventually chose my bff as my MOH and my sister as BM... my sister and I are not close but I couldn't imagine her not there by my side. She was happy about it and I think she understands that my MOH are much closer!
In your case, I would make them both MOHs as long as sister is okay.. IF you're not that close with sister, I'm sure she'll be okay with it. And it's your day not her day to be the starring role anyway ..lol

wow-this post is old!
BUt i like the 2nd girls comment on how her friend dedicated her bouquet to her. I think i might do that for my BF! She's been beside me for SO much. Always can count on her; and always helped me get through any bad times.
She recently loss her sister; so i know doing something like this at the wedding for her will really be touching. sniff Sniff
