Does anyone have instructions on how to do a mail merge in Microsoft Word so that I can do my labels???
I have my guest list in an Excel Spreadsheet and don't know what to do now. I tried it a few times and have no idea what I did wrong...
TIA!!!!!

it's actually the most annoying thing in the world to do. lol it's ridiculously hard to explain. have you thought of making clear labels?

Re: Mail Merge In Word
-open word and click on tools -go down to letters and mailings -in select document type, choose labels then click on next. -choose 'change document layout' and click on label options and choose the type of labels you are using and click ok -then click on 'select recipients' -on the next screen, choose type a new list and click next or you might be able to use an existing list (one that you have saved from excel) but that never works for me so I always just type a new list - after you choose type a new list click create -when that box comes up where you put the addresses, I always choose the customize option and take out all the fields that you don't need. -then just start typing. After you finish the list, be sure to save it!!! -after you save, click on arrange your labels and choose address block. The one that is highlighted just click ok. -then click on update labels. -after you do that, click preview labels. This is when you should see them all pop onto the screen. Be sure to save that page as soon as it does. -then you can change the font and center them and do whatever you want.
I hope this makes sense to you. HTH

Re: Mail Merge In Word
that might be because of the address block type you are using? also when you type your addresses in that box , don't put commas and stuff, word automatically fills that in for you and if you put them in you will have to waste time taknig out doubles.

Nope - I was going to do what you suggested - doing ONE and then just typing out the rest as I go and i'm having problems getting the text to be centered top to bottom...

hmm, I wish I could see it, then maybe I would be able to help but not seeing it it's kinda hard. You clicked on the 'center' tab right? That's not helping? I don't know what else it could be. I'm sorry I can't be of more help.
