Mailing Invitations...

Mailing Invitations...

Ok, so I know this is probably a stupid question, but... what is the process of weighin and mailing the invitations?

If we weigh the invitations and they are heavier than 37 cents, what happens, using two stamps looks terrible??!

Also, I keep hearing about hand canceling each invitation, what is that about??

Sorry, but I am just so confused!!

Re: Mailing Invitations...

Bring them to the post office and have them weighed when you have a complete set with inserts. they will probably come out to 60 cents.

they have 60 cent stamps with a nice flower on them to coincide with the 37 stamp for the reply.

I hand cancelled mine. All that is is instead of the Post office shooting your invitations through the machine to get cancelled (the red mark on the top of all of your mail , usually over the stamp), they will give you a hand stamp and you can put the red mark over the stamp yourself. This way your invitations won't get all banged up and dented going through the machines. I went to the Bay Shore post office. They were very accomodating.
