Mailing Invitations Tomorrow & Have Questions!

So my invitation envelopes are finally coming today and I'd like to mail them tomorrow. From what I've read online, I think I go to the post office and have one weighed and them buy the right postage stamp. Then I take them home, put those stamps on and then regular ( Forever stamps?) on the response envelope? Then I bring them all to the post office to have them hand cancelled, right?

Also, what order do the cards go? Invite, Response card ( inside response envelope?), Direction card, Accomodation card???

Sorry, I'm really bad at this stuff and want to make sure I dont make a huge mistake! Thanks!

Yes have them weighed (at least once...but I'm anal!); buy correct postage; use any 42 cent postage on your response cards. As for the order...I don't think it matters....people won't even notice what order you had them in when they open it...

i agree...bring one to the post office with everything in it to get the correct weight...and just double check and make sure to ask that they weighed it correctly etc....just in case. hehehe.

i just used forever stamps cuz my scheme was brown...it was fine. they sell wedding stamps for the response card (i think theyre peach or green...one is the heavier one and one is the 42 cent one).

i had the response card in the flap of the rsvp envelope...on top of the reception card...on top of the direction/accomodations card...i dont think that's 'correct' i just did smallest to biggest. i would think the reception card goes on top of the rsvp stuff (and the direction stuff all behind it).

rule of the thumb is to go in size order. So for me it was the Invitation, direction card, reception invite, and then the RSVP card.

And yeah, i had them weighed a few days before I was ready to send 'em, that way i had time to buy the correct stamps and then put 'em all on each envelope. It took some time.

I didn't bring 'em to the PO to have them hand cancelled though. I don't even know what that means. i just put 'em in the mail basically, like any other card. I hope that was ok

Well the invitation itself is big and then the response card, directions and accomodation are all the same size and smaller. So they go BEHIND the invite right?

hopefully i get mine sometime this week or early next week so i can send them out for oct 1
