Mailing your invites

I saw some posts regarding this a whiel back but can't seem to find them.
Is there a way to have your invites mailed without them going through a machine and getting riuned? Or big black marks all over them?

yeah by hand canceling the invites. They dont go through the stamp machine with the black ink, instead its a rubber stamp you do by hand

It doesn't matter because the invites will be machine sorted later anyway.
Con't worry about what the outside of the envelope will look like. It is what is on the inside that matters.
My Dad's, sis's and IL invites all came thru the mail perfectly.

mine were fine as well..

dont stress about that.. it'll happen on the other end anyways!! i just dropped them off at the post office and no one came back to complain how they arrived!

They still get sorted through a machine whether they are hand cancelled or not. I didn't bother to hand cancel them and they arrived just fine to my friends.

this is very true! i flipped because i didn't know about hand cancelling untill after i mailed out my invites and i had done wax seals... but shortly after i had a friend who did hand cancelling & they were machine sorted later anyway. Honestly the envelopes really dont get damaged too bad. there were black marks across the postage(which will be there anyway once their stamped) and there were very few that were smudged...only a FEW of my seals appeared a little smooshed but that was it. still got tons of compliments! it's just a pita but they will eventually go through the machines & will be handled through numerous sorting processes & people anyway

All hand cancelling does is save them from 1 machine, it will still go thru the second machine and there is nothing that you can do about that.

Mine went thru no problem and they got to everyone in one piece
