Has anyone been to Maine? We're thinking of going for a few days, but don't know anything about the state, other than they have great lobster!
What towns would you recommend? Any specific hotels?

freeport is also a neat little town... the original LL Bean store is there, its huge and fun to just walk around.... lots of other cute shops and restaurants there, too

I've been to Maine, but only as far up as Algonquit. It's so beautiful! I would go there again.

I second Bar Harbor. We went there when I was a kid and I LOVED it. Arcadia National Park is awesome!
Portland is also a nice town--there is the observatory, several lighthouses, boat cruises, etc.

I have a house in Maine...I can give you tons of information if you would like!
Bar Harbor is beautiful but I happen to like Camden & Boothbay Harbor better.

My Fi and his family go to this resort place called point sebago every year!!! They are there now for the week and say its awesome there. Ive never been there but Ive seen pictures and it looks like a really nice place Hope this helps!

i agree with bar harbor and york is awesome and right on the beach, i have most of my family living in maine but very rural towns.,...lol. i'd go with bar harbor
