Maitr'd gratuity

Was wondering how much everyone was paying for gratuity for the maitr'd? A friend of mine is having a problem with her hall and wanted to know what the norm is for it.

my RH wants $5 per person, most RHs ask for $3-$5

ask at the hall...mine says their norm is $4-$5 per guest

are they not part of the 18% gratuity certified check that my RH requires?

yikes, my place recommends 250 for maitre d' gratuity!

Not for anything I always found the prices to be a bit ridiculous. IMO just my POV I rather give more the the Bridal Attendent who catered to me all day and or anyone else who gives me personally special attention.

MY Hall suggested $3-5 also I think I will decide at the end of the night.

I won't seal the envelope until the night is over!

so now that it comes up: maitre d' is responsible for waht exactly? i paid extra for MC through the DJ so waht is Maitre D's job?

I will be putting $5 pp in the envelope....however...if I dont feel we were taken care of I will have no problem taking $$ out of it during the course of the night!!

That is DEFINITELY my plan as well!

We paid $3 pp..they asked for 3-5 but they wanted the money the night before the wedding, so how could we want to give me????

Thats what I told her. Her place wanted 10% of the whole affair for the maitr'd which means if her wedding is 30,000 he gets 3000. Thats a little insane
