How much does everyone plan to tip this person....the RH told us 3-5 bucks a person and I have 200 guests?

We had 105 guests and we tipped her $400 I believe. I had $350 in an envelope but asked my DOC to add another $50 because the maitre d' surprised me and was better and more useful than I thought she'd be on our wedding day.
It was really like the cost of 3 - 4 more people who RSVP'd 'no' to the wedding... that's how I looked at it anyway.

they told me $2pp we had 96 guests and we tipped her 350 i think ( I wanted to do a little more since there was no bridal attendant or anything like that she was doing everything)

We were told $3-$5/pp and we're expecting to have 120 people, so we'll give about $400

when we booked our hall my dad said that he wasn't walking around with cash the night of the wedding so they added the matrie d tip to the contract. it came out to $450.

At our wedding my mom actually ended up in a little agrument at the beginning of the night with our maitre'd, so my mom was really annoyed with him and took away some of his tip....I think we gave him like $2/pp.....but we were told $3-$5pp

My friends took out the MD's envelope and gave some of the tip to their MD in the beginning of the night and said....we'll talk again later, placing the envelope inside his tuxdo. The MD catered to their every whim. It was great.
We will be doing the same thing.

We gave $500, we gave a count of 170, but had 10 no shows that day
