One of my best friends just booked the Estate @ East wind for 7/4/06 --- and my OTHER best friend wants Majestic Gardens for November 06.
Would anyone mind sharing the price they rec'd from Majestic Gardens for a Sat night (November) in 06? She was quoted a price that seems rediculously high for that time of year, and we're curious to see what other people were quoted.
Much thanks to anyone that can help!!!!

Re: Majestic Gardens?
we had an appointment there, but didn't book. I believe there 2004 price for that time of year was over $100 a head. (I think) it was not under $100, and if it was not by much. I would say I remember something like $95-105.
It's a great place, the food is good and it's beautiful grounds. We almost booked before we saw (or, I saw because FH has worked at many different wedding halls) the Vineyards.

We looked at them. They are nice, clean pretty and the foods decent. But they did seem high to us for the location($110. +). EVERYTHING on LI is high though it seems!

Re: Majestic Gardens?
Majestic Gardens quoted me for 100 pp $160.00pp and for 125 pp $130.00pp for a Sarturday night in May. Right now East Wind is the cheapest. I could not believe what Majestic Gardens wanted.

I booked with Majestic Gardens May 29, 2006 this is Memorial day Monday. My price was $57 per person with tax. You just have to learn how to haggle.

you did really well! That's less than half of what she was told. Congrats!

Re: Majestic Gardens?
it's less than half because it's a monday. her price was probably for a weekend. And, East Wind is cheaper because they do numerous weddings at a time. Majestic is a one wedding at a time affair. that makes a great difference.

majestic gardens told me 145 for a sat eve affair in july...and east wind is 160 pp sat eve in july... i went with east wind because we liked the place much better...the estate... and the food is to die for...but ive heard that majestics food is great too... different styles
it also depends on the upgrades you want...

Re: Majestic Gardens?
We looked at both Majestic Gardens and East Wind...They gave us the same price so we chose East Wind because it is breathtaking and impressive when you pull up there...It feels like a fairy tale when you are on the grounds!!!!! The food is great at both places but East Wind just seemed to offer us more, like throwing in a free room at the Inn for our wedding night!!!!

It means they'll remove things from the menu so you'll have less food at the CH, less premium choices, but will pay less pp.
But even if you get them to $60pp or less, wouldn't you lose the deposit with JT? I'm just confused because it seems money is very tight and looking at other halls when you've already booked and will lose your deposit is not the best thing.

Re: Majestic Gardens?
Hope this is helpful - Majestic Gardens quoted us October 2005 Saturday afternoon, sunday night & Sunday afternoon - all $82.50 pp.
October 2005 Friday night is $102.50 pp & Saturday night is $135 pp.
For 2006 pricing typicaly goes up by about $3 - $5 pp.
ETA - I think the guarantee was 125

Re: Majestic Gardens?
well $$ is tight, but at the same time I would love the JT at night, but during the day :( I just dont like the idea that if you want to step outside its a parking lot. It really bothers me... I jusmped on it way to quick. If I could get a night date Id do it in a heart beat.. It was that beautiful!

Why can't you get a night date? Maybe do a Sunday night? I'm doing a Friday and got a good price because of a cancellation, maybe they have one around your date? All the places you're looking at sound great, but just think everything through before you sign your next contract (speaking as someone who signed 3 contracts!).
Good luck Amy!

Oh jeez... don't let them get you for over a $100- not there at least, we got them down to $55 a plate for a four hour engagement party WITH a cocktail hour and sit down dinner.

Re: Majestic Gardens?
I got $87/head for a sunday afternoon in august... but that was with like nothing (no carving stations, etc.)
That's why we went with meadow club. We got a whole lot of the 'add ons' from other places, included in a base package, for less money.
