Ok, I am doing my own hair. I have been playing with my hair for months. I bought curling irons, elasic bands, clips... everything. No matter what I do I either can't make my hair go that way or look too young. I have always looked young for my age, but I want to look beautiful and not cute! And if you have not notices, wedding is Sunday.

Re: Major (for a bride) problem
If your concern is looking too young, then you should start by wearing it up. It will automatically look more mature. The easiest thing for you to do on your own is a simple bun in back or a french twist. If you have never done a bun before, you can just secure a pony tail and then after it's in you twist the hair and wind it around and then put another elastic in. What kind of veil/headpiece do you have, if any? That might dictate as well. YOu can also do a very simple classy really low on your nape pony tail that is tukced under into the band, which will also look sophisticated. Not to worry, you can usually barely see the hair under the veil anyway. don't make yourself crazy trying to simulate what these hairstylists can do.

IMO, you should get your hair done if at all possible. that is the one thing that I REFUSE to worry about! I don't have a lot to spend on my wedding, but I am definitely getting my hair and makeup done.

I agree about getting your hair done...I know you don't have much time, but I bet there is someone out there who can do a beautiful updo for you-even my hairdresser from home I'm sure would do it! It really would be so worth it...find a picture of a simple, elegant updo and bring it to the person. Its one stressful thing off your mind!! Lord knows you will be stressed enough that day and may not get the hair exactly how you pictured it.
Good luck..if you need a name/# let me know, I'd be happy to see if she's available.

yeah, we have alot of things that I would rather not have to worry about myself that we are worring about our selves. I still don't know how I am getting from the stupid hotel to the country club.

Re: Major (for a bride) problem
I think it's nice to have someone do your hair for you, but I don't know if I agree with the other posters. I had a trial and although I couldn't do the complicated updo that she did myself, I felt like I could do my hair and it would look nicer. I didn't like it at all and at least if I did my own I know it will look right and I will be happy. if you had time to play with trials I'd say hire someone, but it sounds like you don't have much time.

Hey Darcy - I'm sure you could probably get an updo at a salon for a reasonable price - something simple, no?
You have really pretty hair, so it will be a snap to put it up. I would call around and explain your needs. It wouldn't hurt to see what they suggest.

Re: Major (for a bride) problem
I dont' know where you live or if a place will be open but what if you went to one of the schools that teaches beauty & have them do it. I know it isn't that expensive--at least half price of a salon updo--so maybe $25-$30 but really I am not sure--then you wouldn't have to worry about your hair.
Or is there someone that could help you that morning to get it the way you want. I always find when someone helps me do my hair for a function it comes out 10 times better than when I do it myself. Maybe someone in you BP or your FMIL or mom could help you this week so that you can do something special yourself.

Hi Darcy,
I don't know where you are getting ready...but if it is near Crest Hollow I recommend NV Salon. They did my hair trial on Saturday and I've booked them for my wedding (also at CHCC). FM me if you want details on $.
