Make sure you read the fine print...

Make sure you read the fine print...

I am soooo bummed out right now. I just came from my RH where I found out...I cannot have my cany buffet! The bottom of the contract, clearly states in 2mm sized font, that no outside food may be brought in. Apparently, that means if I want a candy buffet, I have to do it through them and pay way more than it would cost if I did it myself! I'm so glad I asked before I bought all the candy! I spent about $40 on glassware, but I'll find another use for it, or return it.

Just wanted to share and give you girls a heads up if you are planning on a DIY candy buffet, read the fine print.

Im sorry, I know that it stinks-especially when you know it will save you money to DIY, but unfortunately they do it for health standards-and Im sure partially for their own business reasons.

Oh I know the health reasons...I've been in the restaraunt industry before. But I guess I just didnt think about it.

That's what I said. They told me that they would need to be in SEALED packages and displayed on a table on the way out, not as part of the setting like I would have done.

I'm sorry that happened to you! Unforunatly, too many times when signing something, there's 'fine' print aka print that no one can read without a microscope

Re: Make sure you read the fine print...

maybe you can have the candy buffet at your shower or at your rehearsal party?

i am doing all my little extras that i was 'not allowed' by family to do at the wedding at my rehearsal dinner. for example: the favors i wanted at the wedding i will give out to my bridal party as part as their gifts and the green pearls i wanted to wear i will wear that night.

did you ask your RH or just see the fine print?? what if u wanted to give out candy as your favor id call them and ask just to be sure........i don't see why it would be a problem if you do all wrapped candy....

I asked because I saw the fine print. They said that the only way I can do it is pay $3.50pp for them to do it...sure they would use the containers I already bought, but it will cost me the same. Oh well, it's one less thing for me to worry about being set up correctly I guess.

I'm have a bbq rehearsal lunch in my back yard, so I don't think the candy buffet will fit in. Maybe I'll give it to my girls to do for the shower, I think I'll just return the glassware that I can and deal with it.

Thanks for all your suggestions ladies!

Wait, i'm confused. they will charge you $3.50pp for the candy bar and it will cost you the same as if you did it yourself... or they will charge you $3.50pp, use the things you bought but charge you the same as if they werent using the things you bought?

maybe tell them how upset you are, how you really want it, etc and when your wedding rolls around they might throw it in as an extra? especially if you go over your minimum
