2. If you are using someone, how early did you book them and how early did you do your trial?
My reasons for asking: Make up is so expensive! I can't believe it could cost like $400 for one day of make up, when I could get really nice make up that I can have for a while for $100. I'm considering doing my own or having a friend do it. I want to have my make up supplies or trial (if I decide to get it done) a year ahead of my actual wedding because we are doing our save the date pictures and thought it'd be a good use. TIA!

There is an amazing Make Up Artist her name is Jacquline Nicole. Look at my Engagement Photo's she did my make up. She also did my make up for my sisters wedding as well as my sisters make up and you can tell when someone had their make up done. These are high resolution cameras not everyday ones. $30 for a trial, it can't hurt to just try.

Where are you going that they are charging $400?????
Go to MAC counter in macys in smithhaven mall , ask for danielle.. if you buy $50 worth of makeup she does it for free and she is unbelievable!!!!!!!!! LIKE AMAZING! And then you can book her for your wedding if you want!

I have an acquaintance who is a make up and hair person i love the work she did for my friend wedding
so im using her.
but shop around.. 400 sounds like way too much

$400?! Holy moly! Don't worry...you can get awesome makeup done for up to $150...and that's even airbrush pricing!
Google some of the makeup artists girls here are using....I'd recommend Lola Loves Makeup and Karen the Makeup Artist

My make up artist is no where near that...OMG! Who is charging that much. My girl works for MAC and is awesome. Her name is Jae richardson

I went for a bunch of makeup trials and she was the best.

I booked a trial with Sandra Baldini (tentatively) for August 8th - if she winds up having a wedding at the last minute that day she will have to do the wedding but since we aren't doing it until after 3:00pm she said we should be fine anyways.
She did FSIL's makeup for her wedding and it came out amazing, plus pricing is good.
Definitely contact her for a quote. She answers her emails pretty quickly
