Make-Up at Sephora

Make-Up at Sephora

I saw someone getting a beautiful make-up today at Sephora in the city. They told me all I have to do is set-up an appointment or just walk-in and it's all free. Obviously, I would probably end up buying one or two things they used but at least it will be something I like and I can use in the future. What does everyone think about getting my make-up done (trial and the day of) at Sephora? My wedding is in the Hamptons in the evening - would it be a bad idea to get it done in the city first before I get my hair done in the Hamptons?

there is a sephora at the rosevelt field mall.... NYC to hamtons is a BIG travel on a wedding day....
most makeup counters will do that also(like clinique este lauder, lancome) they just require you to buy a couple of products..

I think that is way too much stress to get makeup done in the city and then have your wedding in The hamptons. If you can go to a LI location - then I think you will be better off.

I am all for saving money on hair and makeup (I think most of the hair and makeup people I've seen charge WAY too much) I just think you might be adding a lot of stress to your day to save $100 or whatever.

I love Sephora, have had make up done there, but they dont do all that much, and they are all salesgirls so if someone needs them to show them something, they will get up etc to walk away, I would save the stress and do it by someone closer....

I will most likely be having my make up done by a MAC make up artist from roosevelt field. My MOH and i are always in there buying tons of make up anyway so i am sure we will buy more that day. We will go in there for our 'free trial' and then have the make up artist come to us on the day of the wedding. Just make sure you ask that specific make up artist if she does jobs on the side and you should be OK. We have already spoken to a few make up artists in the store, and all of them do freelance work and have business cards etc.
