Make-up/ Hair Quotes

So a friend of mine who models, gave me the number to a hair/ makeup artist she worked with. He has worked with celebs, on magazines etc and his body of work is impressive.


As you can imagine, with all this expereince come a hefty price! Can you guys please post/ FM me with some quotes you have received or what you are paying.

I just want to see how far off if at all, his rates are with other stylists.


I did schedule a consultation which is $150.00 is this too much or average?

I paid $50 for each trial except for the one at MAC.
The MAC one was free and I bought $50 (well over $50 lol!) worth of products).
When you say consultation...is that the same as a trial?? If so...I think that is way too expensive (JMHO!) for just a consultation! The trial price includes talking to the artist and sharing pics if you have them w/you, so they can get an idea of what you are looking for...also be careful, a wedding is different than a magazine shoot (different lighting, etc) and just bec he works with models doesn't mean his makeup artistry will work for a wedding...maybe check out some of the vendors here whose career is wedding makeup and hair?

I'll be paying $150 for my hair and makeup trial and then $300 for day of. I agree this is pricey but I wanted to go with someone who I had full faith in to make me look my best

I am still looking around, I have not signed off on him yet. You make some valid points! I am just going to do the consultation and she how it goes.

For someone whose worked on celebs, etc, no, 150 is average.
That's an hour or two rate for them. That's what they base it on.
