I'm going with air brush. It gave me that dewy glow. I'm using Maureen Pedala (www.nyweddingmakeup.com)

Same here.
With airbrushing, makeup stays for much longer.

I don't necessarily thing that this statement is true. Airbrushing is very light makeup, and just goes one, without any residue.
You should try it and see for yourself. It definately lasts longer with airbrushing.

I think it also depends on your skin... some brides look good with airbrush and some brides look good with conventional make-up. I think it's best to try both and see which you feel more comfortable with.

You should try both.
I did not like the way airbrushing looked on me. I used conventional make up; it was flawless and lasted all day.

I'm doing airbrushing with Densise @ Angel Eyes. I used her for my brother and sister in law's wedding and loved how my makeup came out.

I really, really didn't like airbrushing and I had been convinced it would be great from what I had heard from others. It streaked when i cried and it was greasy when they put the oil spray over it. Also - it had very light coverage and you cannot really use a concealer with it so you are out of luck if your skin isn't perfect already.
I skipped the makeup artist thing because I felt I could do it myself. I use Bare Minerals foundation and it stays forever. In fact, I slept in my makeup the night of the wedding and it was still really good the next morning. I do not have good skin so I have tried everything. The makeup doesn't look thick either - it looks like your skin. I tell everyone about it because I know makeup artists are expensive and I really thought that I looked scary after my trials. Jane Iredale is similar but I haven't tried it. I bet it's just as good though. Just my two cents but I was so impressed with the makeup and so happy i did it myself that I tell every bride to try it (there is a store in Roosevelt Field now if you just want to try it out first)

I had just regular make up, by - and I'm sure you're all gonna laugh at this - the local Glamour shots! It was a lot less expensive than having someone come to the house ($90 for both hair and make-up) and it was just fine. Here's a pic...
I had both and I have very oily skin. The air brush stayed much better on me. It also depends on the type of makeup they use. Jacqueline Nicole did mine and it was so natural, had such a glow and did not cake up at all.

I used Jillian from Gorgeous Faces and loved her! The makeup was put on me at 8am and was still on at midnight when I washed it off! It was natural looking and I got soooo many compliments!
The picture of me and my Dad was taken about a half hour after the makeup was applied and the picture of me and my DH was approx 5 hours later.
ETA: I added the third picture so you could see some of the eye makeup.
I used traditional make-up and I used Denise form Angel Eyes, She was great and very prompt
