Make-Up Help

Do you sign a contract with you makeup artists? Or is it just a verbal agreement stemming from the trial? How does this work? Is there anything written? Is there a down payment of any sort? Also, how much do you tip for a trial?

I booked my hair and makeup lady after she came to my house for a trial a month ago. She accepted my cash deposit and then emailed me a short 1 page contract that detailed her fee, the address and time she was going to report to, and her signature on the bottom.

Get it in writing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You dont want to be caught in a situation where they forget, price goes up or something and you dont have it in writing.

I would get a contract and a receipt for your deposit. You can never be too careful.

I gave a 20 percent tip for my trial and paid a deposit the same day.

100% have it in writting...you dont want your make up girl or hair girl forgetting you and double booking on your wedding day! My hair girl did require a dep. to hold my day....but from what I recall my make up girl didnt

Def. get something in writing (contract ) prefer. You don't want them to cancel on you or a situation came up at the last minute on your wedding day and you will be screwed.

You should definitely get something in writing. For both hair & makeup they came to my house for a trial. I booked both on the spot. Both had blank contracts ready and filled in my info and took my deposit (10%) I think
