Make-up panic!!

I'm getting married next Sunday, 6/9/02. I just called to confirm with my make-up person, Eliana, through the cosmetic area at Bocu. I had booked her right after my trial back in February. They told me that she no longer works there!!! I asked why no one had called to tell me and they couldn't answer- they said that they can't give me her number, that she'll 'probably' call me and to call them if she doesn't. It's too late for more trials!! HELP!!

Call Jacqueline from Imakeupyou (advertised on the board) - she's really good, I'm not sure if she's free but it's worth a shot. She'll travel to you. Good Luck!!!

That is so terrible! There is no excuse for that. You should try posting on the vendor board to see if anyone there can help. Good luck!

That is totally unprofessional! Did you ask them for her phone number, explain the situation. Jackie is also very good. She gives great facials too. You can also try Kristen from Enchante Day Spa in Smithtown.

I would call and ask to talk to the owner.. tell him/her that this is UNEXCEPTABLE...tell them the situation and that you have no time for a trial and you want her phone number...if he gives you a problem i would tell him that you will post an unfavorable review on this board...i know its not much but most companies wouldnt want the bad review...

Thanks, everyone. I called and spoke to the owner. She promised to call Eliana and have her call me today- she calmed me down and made me feel much better.

If things don't work out...I have a great make-up artist for you. She did hair/make-up for my sister last year and I just booked her for my wedding. Her name is Bessie and she can be reached at 718-707-1089. She can come to you. I hope everything works out though with your original artist. Good luck!

I am also using Bocu...Pam...actually eliana came recommended to me, but when I went for my trial she was no longer working there...that was the beginning of April...

If it makes you feel better...Pam did a wonderful job...she really knows her stuff...you may want to ask if she would do a free trial quickly for you just to ease your mind...

my hairdresser works there and had Pam do her makeup for her own wedding...

What a terrible situation! I hope someone got back to you and you've had this problem resolved.

I can understand what you're going through. The salon Kristen was with (before Enchante) had given me a hard time booking her for my wedding day .. they kept putting me off, saying 'the book' wasn't up to our date yet. I had my trial with Kristen in May for our September wedding last year. Anyway, after struggling to get them to put it in writing in 'the book,' about one month before the wedding, Kristen called me to tell me she was no longer with that salon, and had instead moved to Enchante. You wouldn't believe the anxiety I felt when she said she left that salon .. before I knew she was still making herself available to me for our wedding day!! Everything turned out great, and she did an amazing job with hair and makeup for me, my mom, my MOH and my flowergirl. (We had a small wedding party).

I've had a lot of bad experiences with businesses lately. Do not let this place give you the run around. Be persistent with them, but in the mean time, you might want to start checking out other options.

I never had a makeup trial with Kristen .. I liked what she did with my hair so much, and felt really confident in her, that I just didn't bother having a makeup trial .. risky, I know .. but it worked out great! Oh, and by the way, that 'other' salon Kristen used to work for never did call me to tell me she had moved on. These places don't want to lose the business .. instead, they figure they have other people who they can just substitute .. not caring that we all take great care in selecting someone who we have faith in on such an important day.

The ladies at Enchante are super nice .. much, much friendlier than any other salon I've ever been to.

I have used Bocu in the past when I used to get perms. I they do the right thing. I would hate to think that they didnt. Please let us know how it all turns out
