Re: Make up Trial
I tipped for my trial! Figured it was a better time so that she would really want to do a good job and get a top again day of!!
Just make sure you have no make up on, and put on some moisturizer.
And OMG- $400!?!? holy hot dogs that is a lot!!
lol- I'm sure it will be worth it!

Yes you def tip her. And different artists have different policies in regards to if they deduct that from the day of. The standard is that they DON'T deduct it, but it doesn't hurt to ask. One hair salon I went to charged 50 for a trial and deducted it from the day of so ya never know.
Good luck!!!

Re: Make up Trial
Hey ladies,
Just wanted to let you guys know as well of a makeup artist I know who I have for my wedding.
She's really good!!! Her makeup trials are $100. She's doing my wedding for $650 for myself, (2 applications), my mom and two sisters.
She's also doing my bridesmaid for $40 each, which I think it's so cheap for her work. Her makeup is all from Mac and Makeup Forever.

Re: Make up Trial
If you have a specific idea in mind I would bring pics Especially of eye makeup...like do you want a smoky eye etc. Talk to her first to see what she has in mind for you too (usually they do that anyway but just in case lol). As far as tipping...it's customary to tip on the day of but I don't know if it's absolutely necessary for a trial...esp if the makeup artist owns her own business. When I went for a trial with a friend she didn't tip and I did, but she was the one that ended up booking her lol. She looked gorgeous on her day...tipping or not on a trial won't change a true professional's work.
