Make-up trial question?

How do you go about and set a trial at a make-up counter at Macy's or Bloomingdale's for example?

I GOT A TRIAL THROUGH MACY'S WHEN I WENT AND REGISTERED. THEY GAVE ME A CARD WITH A NUMBER TO SET UP FOR AN APPOINTMENT. I KNOW FOR A MAC TRIAL AT MACY'S YOU CAN JUST GO TO THE COUNTER AND MAKE AND APPOINTMENT. I WOUND UP USING JN IN SMITHTOWN. SHE IS AWSOME!! I GOT MY PROOFS BACK AND MY MAKEUP LOOKS AMAZING!!

I worked for a cosmetics company in a dept. store for 4 years. You can go to any counter and ask the person if they do bridal makeup. If they do, they will probably set up an appt. for you for a trial,and if you liked their work you would hire them for the day of your wedding. But remember that when you hire these girls they work privately (not for the company) so they can charge you whatever they want. I knew people who charge $50 per makeover and others who charged $150. The trial is always free if you have it done at the counter in the store because they are not allowed to charge you for makeovers (it is against every company's policy). Every company offers complimentary makeovers, but some salespeople will tell you that you need to purchase something in return for the trial. This is not always true, but the salesperson just doesn't want to waste their time. So by you buying something they get commision. I know it sounds mean, but this is the way it works. Oh and also to get a job at a cosmetics counter you do not need to have a cosmetology liscense - so be aware that some people have no idea what they are doing! I hope this helped you.
