Re: make up trials
I know it really stinks, as soon as you mention wedding the price skyrockets.
Luckily my hairdresser is awesome and is charging me $75 for hair and makeup trial and $150 for hair and makeup for the wedding day and she is coming to my house.....I've been going to her for years and she really is great.

Re: make up trials
Look at it the other way to make it easier to swallow . . . . they are doing the same thing for you on trial day for less money. In other words, don't look a gift horse in the mouth!
but I totally get where you're coming from
But the devil's in the details: Keep in mind, we are going to be picky as hell on the day of, stressed, etc. They will work amongst many others, if not doing you as well as many others, and it's a more pressured environment.
Also, they travel TO YOU on the day of, whereas you go to them for the trial.
