I would like to hear some of the input here. It seems the prices are so high for hair and make up. I know I just probably need to give in and suck it up, but what seems to be the average price paid for bride hair and make up these days?

EXPENSIVE! I honestly don't know what it is in LI, but in NJ, the average was close to $600 smackaroos including hair and makeuptrial and then the big day of for both. Generally about $175- $200 for hair, another $175-$200 for makeup and $100-$150 for the trial. This is if they are going to you. I don't know if you go to them how much it changes becaus many of these people are freelancers and don't have studios of their own.
I am going with a place out of Cali that is antionwide called Marlene Kurland. I don't know hwo their work is yet because my trial is June 10, but I will post updates. They are more affordable than most; $150 for hair and makeup trial, $100 dollars for hair and $100 for makeup day of plus a $25 dollar service fee. But they are pleasant and been around for years so hopefully things will go well.

we used Mya from Cosmetic Artistry. She was $100 for hair and $100 for makeup. $50 trials. She was amazing!!

Mia from BL is 300 for day of hair and MU at ur location no minimums.

Mya is great! She is charging me $125 each for hair and makeup on the day of and $75 each for my girls. I can't remember how much the trials were because my mom paid (thanks Mom!!) but they were basically the going rate. She does amazing work!
