I thought I was spending a lot on this wedding. But I got to talking with a fellow co-worker who is getting married in august at Villa lombardi's. He has over 800 guests!!!!! And that is because he cut the list from 1000!!! As far as flower centerpieces he needs 80 of them and he needs over 400 favors! Whew!! Makes me feel a little bit better about my own wedding!

Well, I think it has to do more with his culture. He's indian and their custom is to 'invite the village'. He was telling me in his country when there is a wedding, invitations are sent out and open to bring as many guests as you want. But yes, it is still INSANE!!!

i went to a friend's wedding last year at huntington townhouse - they has 580 guests - i don't even think i KNOW 580 people! they had to hold the ceremony at my church even though they are a different religion because all those people could not fit into her church!

He was telling me that his FI designed her own traditional indian dresses for the bm's. the are pure silk that was dyed peach with really heavy beading. Sounded fabulous!!

The girl I work for is Persian and she said that most the weddings she has gone to are 800-1000 people!! She said the smallest wedding she had even been to was 400-500

When I worked at Leonards we did an Indian wedding. I dont remember how many people were there but it was A LOT! I also remember stuffing my face in the kitchen too!
