Re: makeup

just make sure you use stuff that will last all day.....

I've been doing the make-up purchasing becuase my friend is doing my make-up on the big day...

I discovered smashbox primer and make-up.... I've done several test runs with it..... it works WONDERFULLY and lasts all day! (you can get it at sephora...)

Lancome is the best mascara, according to LIW girls

good luck!

I will be doing my own make up...I def. agree with the saving the money part..I cant see myself paying 100+ dollars on make up for one day. But a lot of girls say that they dont want to deal with doing their own make up..they rather just be pampered that day..it depends..if you feel you can do it then go for it.

I'm getting my makeup done professionally but I'm buying my own makeup. The majority of the girls on here suggested MAC makeup. I've seen Smashbox @ Sephora but I've never tried it. It's kind of hard to buy your own stuff if you don't know that much about makeup to begin with!!!

Re: makeup

my friend who does make-up professionally went to sephora with me and gave me the thumbs up for smashbox.... she formerly was a MAC advocate, but now she is pro-smashbox

I got the initial recommendation of smashbox from a cosmetologist website...... but then found this website with reviews of products for everyday people.... genius info... this site introduced me to cat cosmetics..... now my favorite eye make-up!

I like the way that I do my own makeup, but I figured since it's the one day I am going to be photographed the most, I amy as well have makeup that will stay on and look perfect!

great advice-and im definately going to look into that makeup because thats basically the one thing im worried about with doing my own makeup, is that it may not last as long as i would like to.thanks.

Re: makeup

I have an appointment with Lancome for makeup suggestions, but I am really leaning towards doing my own makeup. Since FH & I are paying for everything except our invitations, I really don't want to spend $100 for makeup.

What about Macy's, Bloomingdales, or ulta3.

My bestfriend did her own mu for her wedding a few years ago and it looked great. So if that's what you prefer, def. go for it!

I'm getting mine done bc I don't know how nervous and excited I'll be the day of and don't want to be stressed about MU too.

Re: makeup

do whatever will make you happy...i know i was spazzing out getting nervous doing my own makeup for our e-pics..i thought it was so silly, since it was just e-pics... so i am glad someone else will be doing it my wedding day so i can relax and not freak out again...haha

I do my own makeup great as well, always get compliments. I was going to do it myself for the wedding, but then a few people mentioned how nervous I'll be that day and I figured I really shouldn't add to the list of things I have to stress over that day. Plus I want to make sure it lasts. So I ultimately decided to have mine done, but if you think you'll be comfortable enough to do it yourself, go for it! Saving money is always a good thing!

I also do my own makeup and love it, but I wanted to wear some false eyelashes and really do up my eyes for the day. I want the pictures to come out great. I'm just worried about the makeup being too heavy.

to avoid the heavy look, try to add individual lashes (requires practice), or remove/trim half the lashes before putting them on.... that's a tip I read online a while ago....

it's definitely important to get a make-up primer... that helps tremendously to extend the wear time!!!!
