Is anyone else doing their own makeup? I have called around to some people, but since I don't have a wedding party that needs make up done, no one will come for just me. SO, I decided to do it on my own. ANY GOOD MAKEUP TIPS???

My wedding party doesn't want their make-up done either, so we are in the same boat. There are a few make-up artists that do not have a minimum, off the top of my head I can think of jillian from gorgeous faces. You can also go to a local salon to get your make-up done

Re: Makeup
I was thinking about doing my own makeup.. but I had a trial done and I think it came out better than I could do on my own.

Re: Makeup
I could not do my own make up for my wedding, I know I will mess up, lolol. You can also go to a makeup counter of your choice at the dept stores in the mall and they can do your makeup for you if you decide not to do your makeup on your own. Its def less expensive than hiring a makup artist, if thats what you want to do

Re: Makeup
oh I also forgot to mention that most make-up artists offer lessons on how to do your own make-up, you can try that if you're really set on doing your own make-up

Re: Makeup
Two things.......buy yourself a magnifying mirror if you dont already have one and practice ahead of time so you perfect the routine before the Day Of and it goes nice and smooth for you....
Also, if your not using the makeup brands you use everyday, def go with a company that will last you throughout the whole day...like MAC, Clinque...etc....
And even though I'm too shy to do it it is a great idea to go to the mall one day your off and just have one of the ladies at the counter do y our makeup and try out what colors are best on you....
Hope this helps :)

Re: Makeup
You can go to Mac and they will come to your house or Three Village Inn if thats where you will be getting ready. I don't think that they have a minimum. You should go to the counter in Smith Haven mall and check it out.

Re: Makeup
I didn't realize they would do that! I have never used MAC, only Clinique and Lancome. I am just so afraid of the make up looking caked on and too much, you know??

I looove MAC! I got them to do my make-up for my engagement party, you can check my albums if you'd like, but you would probably want something a little less dramatic for the big day, either way they do a great job!

In all honesty, if you don't want to hire someone I'd go to the mall, to like Nordstrom or Mac and ask for a makeover. Ask them for what you are looking for....for example, soft romantic look, pinks, neutrals.....in your head you'll know what colors will go with your face/gown. Pretend you are doing it so you can show your mom how it would look for your big day....lol Maybe that would work? If you do it yourself, especially if you don't apply makeup regularly..there are small things you naturally won't know how to do...example: you'd need to assure that blemishes and uneven skin tone is balanced with concealer and foundation. If you don't konw how to apply it it will look streaky in pics.....there are other reasons to have someone else do it if you aren't sure how to. JMO Hope that helps.
