OK I know I should pay for my bridesmaids makeup out of curtesy, I guess, but is it rude if i ask those that want their makeup done to go 50/50 on it (not including Mother & Grandmother of the Groom ofcoarse) ?
I have a budget to stay in line with and I did not really factor in paying for Bridesmaids makeup.
COMMENTS ANYONE???

Re: Makeup
you dont have to pay for it - i think you are only obligated to pay for it if you are requiring them to get it done.
i told my BMs the hair and makeup prices and basically said 'its up to you if you want to do it - if you want to and the prices re too much for you let me know and i will make sure you get it done' that way i'm only paying if its a hardship for them to do so.

Re: Makeup
I'm not paying for it - You definitely don't have to unless you're requiring your BMs to get their makeup done.
Every wedding I've ever been in I've paid for my own hair and makeup.

Re: Makeup
YOu dont have to pay for it as long as you arent requiring them to get it done.

Re: Makeup
No one has ever paid for my hair and makeup. I am giving them the choice to have it done and pay for it themselves or they can do their own hair and make up.

Re: Makeup
For my sisters wedding she gave us all a certain amount of money in a card and said please use this towards hair and makeup... that is my plan as well!! It was really helpful... thats what I would suggest! HTH!

Re: Makeup
It's definitely not a law to pay for your BM's makeup. I'm not! I have 11 girls so really, if I wanted to do this I would have to take out a loan, lol. And i've never been in a bp where I had my makeup paid for either. So, definitely don't feel obligated!

Re: Makeup
Yeah you def dont have to pay for it. Unless you are making that part of their gift, but thats def on them. You can propose how much it is by the girl whose doing it, but if they choose not to do it, then they're on their own JMO

Re: Makeup
Im paying for their makeup as a surprise as one of their gifts .. But its absolutely not necessary. I think its very nice of you to offer paying 50% .. maybe just say to your girls ...
Hey the cost of makeup is X .. as part of your gift I have paid X amount and so each of you only have to pay X ..
