makeup and hair quest

I need your opionion girls. When I booked for MU she recommended me to use her partner for hair and I love the girl who did my hair but wasnt crazy about my makeup. Is it wrong if I use one and not the other?

I would think no, was it the colors or the technique?

I dont know? Im so confused.
I HATED the the eyeshadow color and lip color she used but once that wore off (I should I say took it off)it wasnt so bad.
I just hate makeup. FH told me I looked like an old woman when I got home. He was like 'Your skin looks all dry and old looking'. I am SERIOUSLY considering just doing my own makeup. Ill just buy a foundation (which I never wear) so my face isnt shiny in the pics but...Ugh, I want to cry.

Does anyone have any suggestions? My wedding is in a month

Was it reagular foundation or airbrush? I would try another trial, maybe with a local salon? Or did you want someone to come to your house? What about the MAC counter. This was the hardest aprt for me too. I almost never wear makeup and when I do, never foundation!!! So it was a hard pill to swallow when I knew I would have to wear foundation for the pics! But I liked my trial with Mia. I didn't feel like I had make-up on.It looked like it, no shine. Don't stress this it will work out, just schedule another trial. Maybe look into one of he vendors on here. GL

I believe very strongly that this is your wedding, not a photo shoot. The important thing is that you look beautiful for your FH and your guests, not that you're correctly made up for the cameras. You look beautiful when you feel beautiful, not when you feel uncomfortable in your overly heavy makeup.

That said, I still think you're better off with a professional, as long as you make it VERY clear that you normally don't wear much makeup and you don't want to wear much for the wedding. You want to look like yourself, just better. You can always use a different eyeshadow and lipstick. If you don't like them much, you can always just put on a light bit of brown or pinkish shadow and some light lipstick. Was your foundation regular or airbrush? I've heard that airbrush, when done correctly, feels like nothing at all. Or, if you really hate foundation but need some coverage, how about a tinted moisturizer? I never use them myself as moisturizer makes me break out, but Laura Mercier's is supposed to be the best. Although expensive. And Neutrogena just came out with a new one that's supposed to be very good. If you or your makeup artist tries that with some light powder on top to set it, it might be enough.

Good luck.

i second the sticking with a professional .. you could even suggest certain colors before she starts or ask her wat colors she'll be using and agree or disagree to come to the right look.

Youre def not obligated to book one just bc you booked the other. Also, maybe try one more professional MU trial with someone else that is highly recommended. I think if you dont like that, youll know that its just not for you and you can start playing around with you doing your own, different looks, etc.

GL!
