Makeup artist cancelled less than two months before the wedding. Need someone fast!!!

I have a picture of what I want and no one has even come close to the look I was going for exept for this woman who constantly was looking at the picture and she nailed it and she just called saying that she can't do my makeup because her fiance surprised her with a trip that falls on my wedding day. I've already been to 4 makeup artist and I haven't liked any of their work. I went to Maximus in Merrick, Technicolor in RVC and City Slickers in Baldwin. Who else could I go to that will listen to what I want?Everyone else kinda do their own thing.

I'm sorry, I don't have a recommendation for you (unless you haven't tried Jenn from Fairytale Makeover cause I've heard wonderful things)...but I was curious who this person was that quit on you because I've heard this excuse several times on this board from the same makeup person.... you can FM me if don't want to post.

my best friend/MOH is the head make up artist at joseph christopher's salon and spa in long beach! She is soooooo talented!! i would definitely have her doing my make up the day of my wedding but i want her to be as pampered and enjoy herself to the fullest as well so we are going to be using someone we know from MAC. fm me if you need more info.

I'm VERY picky about how my makeup is done and I used Oksana for the wedding - she's awesome!

My sister used Marie Katz. She did an excellent job. I also wanted to check out Oksana. Please let me know if one of these 2 makeup girls was the one who cancelled on you.

If you are willing to travel for a trial, I would try Maureen Pedala -- I had a trial with her and she does airbrush -- she was my second choice. She will travel to you the day of.

Thanks...I'm going to start calling places today. The girl who cancelled is from Maximus in Merrick. She only cancelled because her fiance surprised her with a trip. Can you believe that? Doesn't she know that she should put her life on hold for MY WEDDING? LOL I'm trying not to get upset over it.

I used Karen Loree . She advertises on long island wedding magazines. She is located in Two Stephen street in Plainview and Another salon in Huntington, I forget the name.
She has done alot of professional print work with celebrities etc.. I was in 3 weddings that used her plus my own. She was great! Very accomodating. You can goto her or she will come to you with her team. They did 8 if us at 6:30 am on a sunday for my sunday morning wedding
Good luck
