I called a makeup artist that was recommended by a friend. However, she said that she wont travel to do just my makeup alone and that she would need to do at least three people on the day because she has to arrive at seven thirty ( my wedding is in the afternoon and in nyc.) all my bridesmaids want to do their own makeup.
is this normal? Should I cancel the trial I scheduled with her?
Does anyone recommend a makeup artist?

It's normal for makeup artists to require a minimum number of people if theyre going to travel far. if you know for sure that you definitely won't have 3 people, then i'd say you might as well cancel.... even if you loved her, you wouldnt be able to use her if u didn't have two other people getting their makeup done... Are you sure you couldnt find two others even if theyre not in your BP???.... the makeup person i;m seeing tomorrow requires a 2 person minimum... so even though none of the BMs want to get their makeup done, I know my mom will......

Yep..normal practice. Some require minimum or travel fees or both.

Christy is the one I was talking about. I have a trial with her tomorrow. She has a 2 person minimum to go to the Bronx.... not sure about traveling to other places

Most make up artists have a minimum. Even if none of your bridesmaids want to have make up done, what about your mom, grandmother, mother in law??

Some do and some don't... My makeup artist does not require a minimum and she will travel to you. FM me if you want info!

I would find out if she absolutely will not travel if the minimum isn't met. Because no matter what, she's making a lot of $$ for doing your makeup so it might be worth it anyway for her!
