Re: makeup bookings
I went on 4 trials before finding the person that worked best with me and I just booked 2 weeks ago which would be less than 2 months before my wedding. I'd recommend booking your makeup artist way before I did. I just lucked out with my date.

Re: makeup bookings
the sooner the better! a lot of the popular ones on here book about a year in advance. i had my trial sept 2010 and booked her the next day. its never too early plus - with all vendors i find the earlier you book the better bc you can beat any price increases.

It's never too early. I booked mine 10 months in advance.

Re: makeup bookings
I booked my makeup person back in March and my wedding is in July. I wanted to use someone who is very popular and I wanted to make sure I booked her.

Re: makeup bookings
I booked mine in June 2011 for a July 2012 wedding. I knew who I wanted to use since she did my makeup for my best friend's wedding. It wasn't worth it to wait to book her and then discover she wasn't available.
