Makeup experts

I want to buy all new makeup. I usually wear blush, concealer, eye shadow and lipstick/liner/gloss. My stuff is getting kind of old, and it's all different brands, MAC, Clinique, VS.

What counter should I go to to find colors and to have someone put them on for me? Do you like Sephora and VS makeup?

I have gift certificates to Roosevel Field Mall, so I can go to any store.

I would say try Sephora. I think you can even make an appointment for a one-on-one consultation.

I wear all MAC make-up. If you make an appointment, they will do your make-up for you. There is no fee, but you have to buy $50 in products. Which I basically do everytime I'm there.

I agree with Heather, MAC is great! Its very easy to spend $$$ with them. I used to use Prescriptives which is pretty good too

Sephora always gets my vote. They leave me alone and let me browse!

I guess I go against the majority here-- IMHO I can't stand Sephora. I hate that everyone can open everything and stick their dirty hands in stuff! Scheeves me. I'm a dept. store counter girl.
I love Christian Dior. Girls in Macy's are good. (One of them is actually doing my makeup for the wedding... trail was great with her!)

I also wanted to go in and get a make-over at Macy's in the mall (or another store)

Smithhaven is closest, anyone ever had their make-up done at any of the counters there?

Everytime I go the girls at the MAC counter look 14 with way TOO much makeup on, and the clinique ladies are old.... could have been the day I went though. Any advice???

(sorry to jump on the thread, I was also interested :-))
