I have a trial booked with Mia from bridal lounge in Feb - I will make sure I take pics - both hair and makeup. I read from Deedlebug's thread in 06 brides to make sure to tell her what I want.
Heres the thing - check out my e-pics in community. I am pretty au natural. don't get me wrong - I do wear makeup (and of course, lip gloss) - but not a lot - some foundation, pink or brown eye shadow, mascara, and a very light blush (BeneFit brand - very natural looking) - and a pink lipgloss, or bronze (fave - Oh Baby lipglass from Mac, or Purr, or Cultured)
My cousin is the same way and she looked like a clown on her wedding day.
as you know, she is big bucks even for a trial - so, can some au natural brides/bride-to-be's tell me -
How did you explain what you want? What should I say?
I want light, and natural - dewy, and glowing. I am pale as hell though, and would like some color, but I am showing a lot of skin day of, and i don't want my face chocolate and my body vanilla...
Help me word this so I can explain - or send some pics that worked for you guys, or even celeb pics, etc...
TIA!!!

Re: Makeup help
she probably looked like a clown because her m/u artist didn't know what she was doing... I always to the very natural thing too on an everyday basis - very little makeup, and when I had it done for a friends wedding a coulple of years ago, I looked hideous.
When I went for my trial, I told her that I wanted to look very natural, but to bring out my eyes, and this is exactly what she did. I looked like me, but better. A good makeup artist should be able to do this.

Re: Makeup help
Just tell her straight out you don't wanna look like a clown. Seriously, if she knows what she's doing, which I assume she does for the money she's charging, she will respect your wishes and do what you want. This is a trial and error process, but usually the errors occur with people who haven't a clue as to what their doing!!! Good luck.

Re: Makeup help
Make-up is a scary thing. I do not want to look 'natural' but I want to look very glamorous, which will mean more make-up. Sometimes, I see brides and their make-up doesn't make them look glamorous, instead they look like themselves with big red cheeks and blue eyeshadow.

Re: Makeup help
Pictures are a good idea -- I told me make up artist that I wanted a natural and clean look and that is just what I got.
