Ok, just got my first hair/maukup quote to be done in the house & I am not happy! Are they kidding with the $400-500 range for the bride and $250 for my bm's?? Seriously, are these the going rates?? No way am I asking my bm's who already spent $250 on a dress to spend another $250 in hair and makeup! Anybody know of/can suggest anybody a tad more reasonable? And by tad, I mean ALOT!

That is WAYYYYYYYYYY over priced IMO. I was just in a wedding this weekend and my make-up was $80 for airbrush (I think it was $65 for traditional) and my hair was $75. The bride was slightly higher but brides always are. Try Jenn the Hair Genie. She is a vendor on here. She was GREAT. We were all very happy with her. She goes to the house and she can recommend make-up people. I know she works with Oksana the make-up artist who also comes very highly recommended.

I am paying 150 for me and the girls are paying 70 for make-up and 70 for their hair and 150 for my hair. FM me if you want more info.

wow...that seems crazy. even at the ridiculous price i was quoted for makeup recently (for one of the remaining few left for a july wedding) the total wouldn't come to $250 for hair and makeup...it was around $150. Look elsewhere because that is a bit outrageous.
My total look would've been $250 for the day...had someone told me $400 I might have fallen over laughing. i am cutting it down by doing my own makeup...and I am fine with that...so it's $150 for my hair, $75 for any bridesmaids, $50 for our moms and $20-25 (i can't be sure) for the flower girl.

that's way to high....!! Try calling some of the vendors on here...Bride for hair/makeup should be about $250 and BM about $150 ...

This was the first vendor I tried from liweddings, that's why I got so nervous! I guess I just got off to a bad start... I am definitely looking elsewhere

Mine was $300 for both and I know that is on the higher side, but I loved her and that was really my only splurge.

maybe they are trying to 'get you' since they probably think you're doing this last minute...even though september doesn't seem last minute...when i started looking for a hair person in Dec/Jan, the 'big' names were all taken for July....i got lucky and found a vendor on here who is great and decently priced and most importantly, available for my day.

That is WAY over priced!!!! From what I've gotten so far in quotes it's been around 150 for hair and 100 for make up for the Bride. And 75-80 hair of BMS and 75 for make up....I know a good makeup person if you need one FM me and I'll give you her info... XOXOXO Kitty

that's crazy.
I'm paying $150 for hair and $150 for airbrusyh makeup, which I believe is still pricey.... you should be able to find for about 100ish and then 80ish for your BMs... keep looking!!

The BM'S can try Macys or a department store they do a good job & are reasonably priced... for you I'm not sure I haven't looked into that yet, but that seems too high...

I think that is reasonable since everything wedding related is expensive. Nothing about getting married is cheap!
I expect to spend $300-500 on hair and makeup.
I am paying for my bridesmaid dresses. My bridesmaids can decide by themselves if they want to get their hair and makeup done professionally. It's their decision.

I am using Sachiko Yanase..a few girls on here have used her as well.
Her prices are as follows:
$500 for bride and 2 BM (hair and makeup) or any combination of bride and 4 other services (3 hair, 1 makeup..etc). Additional hair and makeup is $60/service..so if you have more than 2 BMs, it'll be about $120 for each girl...she charges $75 (which gets applied to the final balance) for the trial and does a bunch of styles.
look at my album she did about 4 hair styles on me...
