makeup question...

makeup question...

For someone like me I hate makeup & only wear mascara & occasionally blush (if I'm feeling like a ghost like now lol) I had a trial the other day & although it was pretty, I hated having to wash all of it off & hated how much it felt that I had on.. I asked for 'very light makeup' meaning not a lot & I had layers of it on my face!!! FH, my mom & a couple others have suggested since it is a summer wedding I will have a tan & will go to a tanning salon to get an even better glow.. to sort of do without makeup. I have good skin & whatever isn't good the photographer could edit in pictures? Or maybe just have the MUA just do my eyes & a few touchups on my face? This is why I saved this for last thing to book!

Even though you hate make up, I'd recommend having make up for your big day. You want to make sure you look your very best, and that you don't look washed out in your wedding photos.

I think you should try another trial--I'd recommend my artist, Sachiko Yanase, who started light, and added as I saw fit, and I didn't feel it on at all. I also had a terrible first trial with someone else, and considered doing my own, but Sachiko changed my mind.

Good luck either way!

i'm a makeup artist myself...its best that you get a trial done the way you like it. try it without the heavy layers on, or maybe even try airbursh (if you have a good MUA then it will feel much lighter)

your photographer will edit pictures but only to some extent. makeup disappears on camera so thats why it is always put on a lot heavier then normal...hope this helps

I would def do makeup for the wedding! They can edit the pics but it would be better if they have less editing to do on your pics so you look like YOU! Def get a different trial. You can ask that they specifically use a light foundation OR forego it except in certain places like under eyes or on blemishes and then have them use a powder to even out the rest of your face! HTH!

I think you should def do makeup...perhaps you can get a trial from someone else. let them know how you feel and they should be able to accomodate what you are asking for. I am the same in regards to having caked on makeup. A very light airbrushing should do the trick for you.

If you need the name/# of someone else, FM me and I'd be more than happy to give you the info for someone whom I thought was amazing.

Perhaps you should look into airbrush make-up! It feels lighter on your skin. But I agree, you should definitely have your make-up done professionally on the day of- ask them to do very light, neutral eyeshadow. Like this photo here- she definitely has make-up on, but it's minimal. Give Sandra Baldini a call!

see i like that.. i want simple.. like you can't even tell i'm wearing it..

when I had the trial done FH didn't like it & said it was TOO MUCH & didn't look like me!

If anyone can recommend an inexpensive but good MUA please let me know!!! :) TIA

I think that you will regret not getting it done for the pictures!!!! They will come out 100% better if you have your makeup done, with or without the tan.. think about all that money you are spending on photos, don't let them jsut be OK because you don't like to wear make up. Even though you don't wear makeup, I think that you can get it done tastefully so its natural and to your liking.

What about heading to your local mall and getting it done at MAC for a trial. It won't be as expensive and if you like it, you can ask them if they'd be willing to come to you on your wedding day. Most mall MUA's already do that on the side or would jump at the chance. I have a few MUAs that I would recommend, but I don't know if they'd be too pricey for something so simple to do KWIM? If you're interested, FM me!

ETA: And definitely take that picture (or google light bridal make-up and you'll find TONS more styles) with you whenever you plan on going!

i wouldnt rely on the photographer to edit what you dont like. it's your wedding day so i think you should treat yourself this one time to a makeup person. just my opinion though.
