Makeup question about airbrush

Makeup question about airbrush

A few weeks ago I posted that Sally Hansen made airbrush foundation makeup, and I finally found the bottle this week (I think only Walgreen's carries it for now). But when I read the instructions it said to spray the foundation on your fingers and then apply.

So, how is that different than any other foundation? And if they say to do it that way, is that how the makeup artists that use airbrush do it too?
Just seems like it's not that big of a deal if you have to still apply it with fingers. I thought it was sprayed right onto the face.

That's weird. I think the whole point of airbrushing your foundation was to get a very fine application. Only an airbrush can do that. If you spray your fingers and then put it on your face, it's no different, in my opinion, than using regular foundation out of the bottle.

Maybe Sally Hansen is just calling the makeup 'airbrush foundation' as a selling gimmick???

When I had my trial with Danielle Renee, she sprayed it on with the same airbrush type tool that they use in the nail salons! If you put it on with your fingers, it is not airbrush. When Danielle did it, it felt weightless and last ALL day long!

airbrushing shouldn't go on with your fingers.....it gets sprayed all over your face so it's light
maybe it is just a selling gimmick!

ERA Classified Cosmetics makes an airbrush foundation. I know they sell it at Henri Bendel in the city. It was like $50 though. I thought it was too much of a hassle after awhile b/c you have to put a headband on to prevent it from getting it in your hair, and I honestly didn't think it looked that different from my regular foundation. My foundation already goes on light because I just put a little with my fingers.

i think using your finger defeats the purpose....i just had jennifer from fairytale airbrush my makeup and she used a machine that blew it on essentially....wierd how sally hansen would say that...hmmm...

I tried that Sally hansen makeup, you do apply it with yoru fingers, but its suppsed to give you a flawless look, like a real airbvrush would. I did like teh foundation actually, I just thought it wsa colorless and bout a color that wsa too drak on accident, I use lancome and ma very happy with it, so i didnt even go back to buy the right color, but the sally hansen wasnt bad, Clinique makes some type fo airbrishing concealer I think, but again, it applied with yoru hands, so they just call it that because its supposed to give a flawless look.

Thanks girls. I thought airbrush meant just that..airbrush. I'll forgo the Sally Hansen then for the wedding. Too bad it would have been cool to try but I'm not wasting anymore $ on makeup anymore. I just tossed out alot of makeup I never use.

Clinique and Philosphy both have make-up Primers which are suppose to give a matte/airbrush finish. They are colorless lotions that minimize pores and smooth out redness in the skin. I have used them both and like them a lot.

But for my wedding day I'm going to leave it to the pros. DanielleRenee did a fabulous job on my trial using the airbrush machine....
