I know my wedding is like a year away, but I think in order to make sure I like the way someone will do my makeup before I hire them is to do a trial before the wedding trial. I have a wedding to attend on the 19th of November. In your HONEST opinion do you think it is ridiulous if I have her try my makeup for that or just wait and hire her anyway based on her portifolio? (which is fabulous) Its Mia from the Bridal Lounge.
Thoughts?????????? I sound bridezilla like dont I? The ironic thing is I hate tons of makeup

Re: makeup trial
I would definately do a trial. You want to make sure she knows exactly what you want on your day. Doing a trial will let her understand your needs and adjust any changes accordingly.

Re: makeup trial
get the trial for the wedding, its the perfect opportunity to actually get some use out of your trial. I had my trial done after work and then paraded around my house for 2 hours before taking it all off.

Definetley have a trial, make-up and hair is all about personal preference. You need to make sure its exactly what you envisioned.

Re: makeup trial
definitely do a trial - i went to a makeup artist that is highly recommended by everyone and i hated the way she did my makeup....i would try her out before you book her.

Re: makeup trial
You don't sound like a bridezilla at all! I think it's a great opportunity for a make-up trial. One of the most important aspects of your wedding day make up is that it lasts all day, through the ceremony and reception. This is a great chance to see what you like and what you don't like, plus to make sure that it lasts and you don't have to re-touch.

Re: makeup trial
I had my make up trial in June, the day of my friend's wedding. It was the perfect time, in my opinion, because you can see how the make up will last through hugs, kisses, dancing, etc.

I think that's a great idea. You can put it to the test of all the hugging, kissing, crying, etc. I say book the trial! Good luck and have fun!

Re: makeup trial
DO A TRIAL!!!! I have had FOUR already!! Yes, I said 4. I didn't like any of them. Well, I can't say that... I did like one, but I'd have to go back a 2nd time for things to be 'fine-tuned'. I wasn't happy with any of them 100% and a few I went home and washed it off immediately.
My wedding is a year away too and I, at this point, have given up. My next attempt will be the make-up counters at the mall or something.
Trials are a good thing!! Try certain people out before you make any committment.

Re: makeup trial
Of course you do a trial. I did mine over a year in advance to make sure I got who I wanted and didn't end up with whatever was left available. Same for the hair...
