Hi ladies... I'm getting married in less than 3 weeks and do not have a makeup artist. I went for a trial this weekend with a vendor from here but wasn't thrilled with how the foundation came out. She used airbrush on me and I thought it was so light that it hardly gave me any coverage. For the most part my skin is clear but I do have some blemish areas and the airbrush foundation did not cover those spots at all. I felt like my daily tinted sunscreen gave better coverage. I'm not sure if it was the airbrush or if it was the artist. And now most of the most recommended makeup artists on here are already booked.
The hair salon I'm using has a makeup artist there, the problem is I won't be able to get all the way out there again for a trial before the wedding. Should I just cross my fingers and hope she is good? Not sure what to do...
If anyone has any makeup artist recommendations that are FANTASTIC with covering blemishes, please let me know! Thank you!!!!!

Re: makeup trial
Hi fellow East Wind Estate bride. One of my friends recommended someone at the spa/salon in Bellport (not too far from Wading River). Her makeup for her wedding was amazing. I believe her name was Marie and I think my friend only paid like $45.
Or, no offense, can you MAKE time to get back to salon for a trial? It's worth it to make sure you are happy ahead of time.
Good luck. Can't wait to see your beautiful pictures.

Re: makeup trial
Save yourself the trouble and money and find a friend or family member that knows how to apply make-up really well. I would highly recommend using Bare Minerals make-up kit, it's a foundation that gives your skin a flawless coverage and covers imperfections and blemishes. Honestly, I hired a make-up artist/hair-stylist for my wedding. I was really disappointed with my make-up/hair after spending all the money and time realizing I could had asked my friend/family to do the same thing. As you already said, you went to a trial and you weren't happy with the results. I would just save the money and get a counter make-up artist to recommend day of wedding make-up and have someone do your make-up. It'll save you so much time and money.

thanks so much for the info!!! I know I should MAKE time, but I live and work in the city so it's not easy for me to get out to LI, especially all the way out East and I have a lot going on in the next couple weeks, including my grandfather's memorial service this weekend and then next weekend is the last weekend before my wedding. thanks for the post though!
