ok so i stated that i was thinking of doing my own makeup-and now im most certain that im going to. i had gotten a recommendation for smashbox stuff but now im just curious as to what everyone likes when it comes to really good long lasting makeup.

I like Clinique (I think it's called Stay-Put?) foundation with the Laura Mercier primer. For mascara I love Diorshow

Im a MAC girl all the way.
I also use a primer on my eyes and face.. hat puts foundation on really smooth. Right now I am using Laura Gellars Spackle...LOL
MAC has a FABULOUS liner that is waterproof. It is like a cream you put on with a brush. AND.. they have great prices.
I used Studio tech creamy foundation, and Studio Fix for my powder . Fix is supposed to be a powder foundation, but I love it as just a powder cuz it touches up real nice.

I use bare minerals for face, but love nars, stila, lorac... I have a spending problem when I'm in sephora
ETA: MAC is great too. I got this great dark brown shadow and a liner brush..makes a great eyeliner!

oh.. wanted to say..
I really like bare minerals for my eyes. They have great colors , and if you wet them or use a special mixer, you can use it for a real intense eye and great eye liner. They also last Forever!!
I too am a Sephora addict and need to stay away!!!!

LOL.. dont forget, you can get a mini make up lesson from MAC. If you go on a slow day or when you see several of the sales people available, a lot of times they will try to make you up even if you just show a little interest... then just buy what you want...even if its only one thing..
LOL.. i went in and told them that I wanted a new foundation, ended up spending like $150 bucks..... thats what they were hoping for..hahaha
I also love being able to try on the products before buying... saves a lot of $$$ in the long run.

I wanted to get my wedding makeup from MAC. So I called and asked them if they could help me select colors, etc and they said that I would have to make an appointment and it would cost $50!!!!! What the heck?!?! I'm going to buy my makeup from them, why do they need an extra $50?!?!?!?!?

I am also a Sephora addict. I love the Bare Minerals foundations. Nars is my favorite for eyeshadow and blush. Diorshow is my favorite mascara.
