I am making my own invitations, std, response cards, etc. I am even lining my envelopes. can you tell i am jobless??? so my question is this. i am not doing an inner envelope. i have always thought they were a waste of paper, and i will go mad looking for an envelope that fits inside my envelopes. I will go MAD!!! anyway, if i am writing the name and address on the outer envelope, do i write Mr. John Smith and Guest so that he knows i am inviting a guest, as well? Anyone have suggestions? and for a family, do i write The Smith Family???

Re: making invites, but what do i do???
I agree. I am not a fan of 2 envelopes. The address would be Mr. John Smith and Guest
and for a family
Mr. and Mrs. John Smith and Family

I am possibly making my invites as well. I agree with your inner envelope theory but have no idea how to address just yet...
Where did you get your paper? How are you lining your envelopes? Do tell, do tell...

you could do the and guest. I think that's fine,,,also the response could say Mr Smith & guest. So he know's he can invite somone.
I agree with envelop. IF I decide to make, I am going to do a vellum wrapping, or a ribbon & seal, to hold invite, receptio, response together.

Re: making invites, but what do i do???
I went to michaels, after endless searches for paper and envelopes that fit, argh!!!!! so i found at michaels the halcraft line that has 50 cards and envelopes. i am doing a simple text but probably handwriting our names calligraphically. then i bought extras so i can make the save the date cards and reply cards from the same stock, only i will cut out using deckle scissors. To line the envelopes, i am using a silver foil wrapping paper, which was 1.20 a roll at party city. i cut the roll about every 7 inches so that i have 4 short rolls of paper rather than one long roll. i slid the paper into the envelope, cut it by the point, folded and cut the topso that is was angled like the flap, glued it and ta dah! it sounds harder than it is, but i found the ideas in the fall 2003 martha stewart weddings mag. that was exhausting to write all that. the envelopes are easier!
