making my own guest book

making my own guest book

I am making a page from my scrapbook into a page for guests to sign their names...instead of having a traditional guest book.

making my own guest book

I am planning on doing a guest book/scrapbook-- instead of having guests sign a traditional guest book I am cutting paper into various shapes- all different colors/designs/types of paper-- with some blank and others that have beginning of sentences ( the key to a happy marriage is.../ something a wife needs to know..., etc) so that when we get all the table pictures(from the disposables) we can put the guests wishes along with their pictures-- does this make sense? anyone else think of doing this? Laura

Thanks for all the feedback... Question: Can they actually charge you as a rush order if you order it far in advance and whatever goes wrong is not your doing?

Please, be my guest!

Kate, having a spread of all your wedding party attendants is a GREAT idea! I'll be sure to do that, too!!!

I'm also making my own guestbook. before the ceremony when everyone starts arriving, a friend of mine is taking polaroids of all the couples and singles. Then she will put them in the scrap book with the photo corner tabs. Then at the reception the guests will find their picture and sign under it. I will decorate the front of the book with my ivitations and the first page will be our engagement picture. we are going to write a little note and sign our own book. Just saying thank you to everyone for coming.

i totally agree... and i know that everything will be exactly as we want it with her there. she is so open to everything and we can do lots of things to personalize the ceremony.. and the vows have such a great message.. two people coming together to create something else, but still remaining two separate people!!!! that exactly how we feel. anyway, i'm getting married on october 8, 2000. when are you getting married? -leighann

Idea... Instead of writing lines for guests to write their names on, what if it was just a blank page for guests to write where ever...kinda like a collage. This way, there won't be blank lines at the end or not enough lines. Although, it's not as formal. I will still have "OUR GUESTS" written on the top of the page and a matching reminder card that says "Hey, sign this..." (or something).

Make sure the page is big enough. People may write all over the place and not leave enough room for others. Although I think that may look better than the formal lines, maybe leave 2 pages for signatures. Or draw little boxes randomly, have a family member sign first so the guests know what to do.
