Making the Swarovski monogram cake topper myself... any tips?
I plan on making our Swarovski monogram cake topper by myself, but I'm not sure where the best place is to buy the crystals or the topper itself, or what to use to glue on the crystals. Any suggestions?

I ordered the 5inch mirrored acrylic cake topper in Renaissance font from dazzlemeelegant.com. The topper itself was $15 and the shipping was $9.95.

I went to Michaels.com and checked every week until I saw a 40% off coupon. Stopped at Michaels on my way home from work 4 different times and bought 2 packs of the Hotfix Swarovski elements rhinestones that come 80pcs to a pack (3 different sizes) and two packs of the smallest size crystals which I think came 60 to a pack, although I can't remember for sure. I also highly recommend buying the Create Your Style Swarovski crystal glue pen. Just dab some onto a tiny section of the letter at a time and then stick on maybe 3 or 4 rhinestones at a time. Also, I recommend first laying them out on the letter to figure out where they would look best and THEN gluing them on.
The whole project cost me maybe $50 and too about 3 nights to do (I worked about 2 hours on it each night).
