So yesterday was our rsvp date and we have not made our minimum. We are calling friends and having parents call the family. I'm feeling frustrated. Anyone else having this problem or had this problem?

Re: Making your minimum?
I am having this problem. We invite 229 people...only 130 can come. We have a 150 minimum...
The only good thing is that they will put the vendors under the minimum to bring us up to 135...we have to pay for 15 people that won't be coming! Oh well...

Re: Making your minimum?
I had to pay for empty seats also. I was very upset at the time....but after awhile I realized that the people who are most important in our lives were there....it's only $$$ after all

Re: Making your minimum?
We are currently at 105 and our minimum is 125. I am going to call our hall and see if they'll let us include the vendors. Even then, I think we'll be paying for people who can't come.

Aww that is so sad. We made our minimum, in fact went over it.
I dont know which is worse paying for paying who dont come or having to pay more for those you neve anticipated.
Dont worry..the important people will all be there so you will have a beautiful day.

Re: Making your minimum?
It's funny but I hope we don't make our minimun. I want to have a small wedding so if less than my minimum doesn't show it's ok with me.

Re: Making your minimum?
I'm not that sad--I too wanted a smaller wedding so that we could hang out with everyone. I just spoke with the Hall and they'll included our vendors in the count, so that's good.

We didn't make ours either - i think summer is a big problem because people have a lot to do - even though i sent std's a LONG time ago!! We ended up inviting extra people last minute including some brides from here who I became friendly with so I guess it worked out because i was not able to include LIW friends in the original list.

We had also missed our minimum by about 5 people and Carolyn, the banquet manager, allowed us to include our vendors on the headcount, so that should not be a problem for you. It is a good idea to follow-up with the delinquent responders, maybe some response cards got lost in the mail.
If you have extra seats, my husband and I would be so excited to celebrate with you. I've been thinking how nice it would be to attend a wedding at Vanderbilt as a guest because we know how great everything will be!
Good luck in your final weeks.

Re: Making your minimum?
You all make me laugh...
I spoke with the Vanderbilt and they said that all of their brides have been having problems with getting either their minimums in on time or getting their guests to rsvp on time. I know that I may not always rsvp right away, but I always send in my card to weddings and other events that ask for a response. Is this the new trend? Not rsvping?

Luckily our minimum is only 75. It holds up to 130 people.

I wish 25% of the guests are being unruly and wanting to bring other guests like 2,3, and 4 extra people

Re: Making your minimum?
We were having the same problem, but we just invited people that weren't even on our C list. It was really surprising the reaction we got from them. They were all so excited to be included. You have until 3 days before your wedding to give the final number, if you still don't have enough, think about an LIW table.

We didn't make ours either. I think we got married on the busiest day of the year we got so many no's. As everyone says, just invite the LIW people and you'll have more than enough!

Re: Making your minimum?
it's a total cr@p shoot for us as we have some many OOT guests...
our minimum is 80, so far i expect 77 should come and 101 may come - we have about 40 official yes responses, the rest i am currently guestimating ...
