i bought a box at a craft store (in Indiana of all places) and repainted it and the hardware, cut a slit & added dollhouse molding around that & decoupaged it...not sure if that helps you...you can also do great things with cardboard boxes like I've seen many brides get from ForTheModernBride vendor...basically just cover the boxes with ribbon & nice paper or fabric!

Here's my before/after pics. Then a pic from the vendor I mentioned.

I made my card box out of three diff sized hat boxes that I got at AC Moore. I covered it in a thin wedding styled disposable table cloth that I got from party city and used silver ribbon as a border (got that from AC Moore as well). You will need a glue gun and lots of glue ...and patience! Heres a pic of mine -Good luck!

I don't really see a difference in the two stores but I'm sure you will find what you are looking for. I would do a search for cardboxes. I've seen them before on here. HTH.

I made ours. Bought three round boxes (white paper, and thick) at Michaels. They didn't call them hat boxes, though, so they might look at you funny when you ask for them. Painted them wtih acrylic paint (3 coats), hot glued the ribbon and shells on and then glued the top box onto the bottom. Very easy to do, and in total, I probably spent about $30 or $40 on the entire thing.

These are my shots taken right after I finished it. Don't have any of my pro ones to show it in the ballroom, sadly.

Home Goods has a lot of very pretty boxes. I'm keeping my eyes open there to find something that matches my colors and then making a slit in it to put cards in. Their inventory changes a lot, so it's worth stopping by a few times. I plan on spending no more than $20 (and that's the high for their boxes that I've seen!)

I used three hat boxes and cut the bottoms out of the small and middle sized ones and the top of the largest box. I had one of the hat boxes so I only had to buy two and the other materials. To me it was worth it.
