Making your own veil?

My FH's mother offered to make my veil as she is quite crafty and at first I dismissed this... then I went pricing and looking at veils and started to have second thoughts as it seems like a waste of money for a $5 dollar piece of fabric that i'll wear on my head for 2 hours??

My question, has anyone made their own veil? Was it really hard? Where did you get materials?

My mother is very crafty and made her veil for her own wedding, so I'm thinking about having her make mind as well. I agree that the prices are crazy for what your receiving.

Go to the craft store with your FMIL, and see what you find. If you feel confident that she'll make a really pretty one..I say go for it!!
