Is it just me or does seem as though men have more lasting stronger friendships?
I hardly see my DH argue or fight with his friends, and even if they do have a minor misunderstanding it is squashed immediately or forgotten about? Unfortunately with women grudges are held and sometimes we stop speaking together completely?
Why are we so petty sometimes???

Re: Male and female friendships the difference.
just wanted to add the my FH uses the term: 'Friend' very loosely... sometimes I have to snap him back into reality and say: 'that guys not your friend, you haven't even seen him in ten years!' but of his actual friends, yup. they get over fights so quickly...if they even have any!

I just think that us women take things to heart a little but more the men do.

Re: Male and female friendships the difference.
Nrvbrd, I agree with you wholeheartedly!!! I was just thinking about this same topic yesterday!!! FH has a group of about 8-10 friends that he has known forever!!! They remain very close to him!! I often get jealous cause I have lost some good friends over the years!! I always ask FH what his secret is and he always tells me he is just the type of person to always be there for a friend. He is not one to stray or have 'issues' easily; he's just an easygoing guy. Its funny; he has the same group of about 8 friends and they all grew up together!! If you asked anyone of them who they best friend is they would probably answer with my FH's name!!!

I think it's just the difference between the male and female thought process....men don't hold grudges like women do and women take things very personally. Think back : how many fights / friendships lost do you have in your past that were a misunderstanding or grudge held? Men don't really do that because of their macho 'so what I can kick his a$$ attitude'!
