Maltese

does anyone know where i should go or what i should do to get a dog .... i just know i love maltese but dont know if i have to go to a pound...shelter...helpp

If you live in the nassau county there is a pet store in Merrick called the puppy store...I bought my maltese there a year and a half ago and had a great experience with them...I dealt with scott. Everything i really clean and his dogs are healthy I highly recommend this place (I'm not big on pet stores but this was one of a kind)

i don't care if you had a good experience, never buy from a pet store. they are unsafe, and don't care for the animals as much as rescues and if you need a purebred, a breeder.

Never ever buy from a puppy store. those puppies come from horrific puppy mills. If you don't know what a puppy mill is, do a search on google or yahoo.

Adopt or rescue a shelter dog. Start with your local animal shelter or do a search on petfinders.com.

DO NOT BUY FROM A PET STORE. These are Backyard Breeders. They keep their dogs in horrible conditions and don't care about them. They auction them off after they can't produce anymore for more money.

Lots of these dog are born with horrible defects.

I have a maltese and the breeder was fabulous. My dog is almost 6 and she is beautiful and healthy. I highly recommend the breeder if you are still looking. FM me if you want any info.
