Man of Honor

Man of Honor

I have a ton of friends, but only 1 brother. I was thinking of keeping my BP very small and having my bro as my Man of Honor and maybe 2 of my best friends and a few kids. Has anyone done this? How did it work out?

I think it's a great idea! I have personally never seen it but I have heard of it. There are no rules anymore do what makes you happy.

Just like Patrick Dempsey!

If it makes you happy go for it! I'm sure he will be honored.

Aww I think that is such a sweet idea! If you're brother is cool with it, than go for it!

I'm close to all of my female cousins and was having a VERY hard time choosing an MOH. I didn't want to hurt anyones feelings so I asked my guy best friend to be my man of honor. He was taken back by it, but was super honored. Go for it.

Thanks Ladies!
lynb1031- How about the actual ceremony. Will ur man of honor walk down the aisle by himself?
I think my fiance will only have a best man. Do they walk down together? Maybe weird

Re: Man of Honor

i put my brother as a Groomsman ...

honestly, i don't think my brother would have even wanted to be a 'man of honor' ... it's just too fruity sounding!

I love the idea of a man of honor, and want him to be more than a groomsmen. I do partially agree... It sounds slightly fruity. That may be his response also.

I think it is an awesome idea.
I have no sisters and 1 brother.
We are each only having 1 BP member.
I knew that I had to have a special place for my little bro - He is walking me down the aisle.

how about making him a 2nd Best Man then? My FH has 2 best men (his two brothers) so it's not unheard of ....

He's actually going to walk down by himself and him and the best man will escort one of the bridesmaids at the recessional since i'll be short one girl

Re: Man of Honor

my sister's brother-in-law made his sister Best Woman. It was sweet. She took pics with the groomsmen and a few with the bridesmaids. i don't think she went to his bachelorette party though.

she stood on his side and i stood on my sister's side. we also wore the same dress and the other BMs wore something different.

i liked it

Re: Man of Honor

My cousin is my Man of Honor. He actually wanted to wear a dress, it would have been very funny since he looks like a biker dude, tats all over eheh. But I can't let him do that at the ceremony. Afterwards, maybe hehe I am also having a Matron of Honor.
There is nothing wrong with it. My FI's best friend is the best man, and even though I have 3 brothers, I am so much closer to my cousin, we're only 9 months apart and grew up together. My cousin is so excited and is taking his role as MOH seriously.
