My best friend is a male and I plan on having him stand up next to me when we get married :)
Just curious if anyone is doing the same? I plan on as well having my sister as my maid of honor who will walk down the aisle. Lucky I am having a small wedding party: my sister, my best friend dan, and then my FH four brothers. So only my sister will walk down the aisle while the guys are up front.
Anyone doing this? Seen it at another wedding?

I am having my sister as MOH and FH is having his 2 brothers as BM, so mine is small too. My sis will walk down alone. I think it's fine! I also went to a wedding in July and the bride had MOH and BM, and the groom had a Best 'woman' and her husband as an usher. It worked out great!

i wanted to make one of my brothers my man of honor but chose not too when my FH told me he was going to make him one out of two BM before I could tell him my plans...it worked out fine tho since my best friend is my maid of honor and my sister in law is now my matron of honor...

yes! One of my BM's did this for her wedding. She made her extremely close guy friend her Best Man (I believe that's what she called him). It was a sweet way to incorporate him into her day.
I haven't seen it done but I think it's a great idea. Just because your best friend is a guy doesn't mean he should be left out! Also, have you seen the movie Made of Honor with Patrick Dempsey? Not the best example since she ends up with him, but it's a cute movie.

I'm doing it! I also have a male best friend who I couldn't imagine not standing up for me at my wedding just because he's a guy! So I'm having a Maid of Honor and a Man of Honor and 2 bridesmaids on my side, and FH is having a Best Man and 2 groomsmen. Since we're going to be uneven we're just going to have two of the guys double up with one of the girls for walking down the aisle and into the reception. :)

ive seen it done for both man of honor and Best Maid, love it! almost did it myself but at last min decided to just have my BF be the one to marry us.
the cute ways i saw it done was the man of honor's tux was alil different to match the girls better. like all the guys wore silver vests and the man of honors vest matched the girls dresses
and when we saw a guy have a Best Woman she wore a black dress to match all the guys tux's while the BM's wore purple
it was just really cute!

OMG I do not blame you. My FH used to be best friends with his ex.. but since we bought our house and got engaged she became distant. It was at least 7 years ago they dated but everyone knows that she is jealous and still in love!!
But My FH has nothing to worry about because my best friend Dan is gay and happily in a relationship!! He lives in Pittsburgh and I am trying to figure out something cute I can make and mail it to him asking to be in my party.

I've tried so hard for years to give her a chance but she manages to mess it up.. she deff has some social anxiety disorder and is nasty to me.. so i gave up trying to befriend her.. now i just cant stand her... but fh is literally her only friend and who am i to tell him who he can be friends with ?!?! ...i'm pretty sure tho that shes not over him.. i know hes over her cuz obvs he wants to marry me lol

I'm having my brother be my Man of Honor! I couldn't imagine anyone else standing up next to me and it was really important that he be in our bridal party. I'm also having uneven numbers....I'm having my brother and my FSIL on my side (and her daughter as the flower girl) and my FH is having his 2 brothers and his best friend. So I have 2...(well... 2 1/2 haha!) and he is having 3
I think I'm going to have my FH walk out with his BM and then my brother will walk down the isle alone, then my Fh's best friend alone, and then having my FSIL, her husband and the baby walk out together since they are all family.....and then me!

O M G! We should talk! I have the exact same situation over here! Even down to giving her a chance and her messing it up lol. It's been such a sore subject in our relationship and I hate that...but it is what it is. I used to think I was the only one who had to deal with something like that. At one time, someone mentioned if she'd be in the wedding party, and I was like NO WAY!

I went to a wedding where there was a Best Woman. She wore a black gown so she fit in with the groomsmen a little more than the bridesmaids. She walked down the with her son who was the ring bearer.

Thanks everyone for their responses!! Making me feel alot better about my decision. Cannot wait to ask him! I actually might mail him the Patrick Dempsey movie to ask him. In college we loves Dempsey in greys anatomy! :)
