They will not seat a bachelorette party at any time on a Saturday for a party over 14 UNLESS you go at 5pm or 10pm.
This is what they told my sister today at 2pm.
Yet last week she was told the cut off is 15 people. I had to cut my list for my sister to bring it to 15 and now they are saying 14??
And why at those times? Because they said that it gets too crowded on a Saturday night.
Fine. But when I asked how big the place is, he said they have 25 tables and can sit up to 80 people at any given time.
So why can I not have 14 or even 15 people at 7pm dinner there???
It makes no sense. I asked him FIVE TIMES 'why are you telling me you cannot sit 14 for dinner at 7pm yet you can sit up to 80 at any other given time in your restaurant on a Saturday night?' He woud not give me an answer. I asked five times and five times he said 'because 14 is too much'. But yet they can have 80???
Our conversation pretty much ended up with me telling him to go do something to himself that was not very nice.
I have never told a strange to do that before. I might joke around with FH and say it but not seriously. But this man made me so mad I couldn't help it. It just came out.
But how ridiculous is that? So maybe I should make 2 reservations for 7 people at 7pm and when we get there ask to be seated next to each other??? Would that be better?
Geesh.
Now I have to find another restaurant. And I had my heart set on it after so many of you recommended it to me.

my guess is the reason they aren't accomodating you is because they overbook and take people off the street when they already have reservations. went there a few years back with a group of about 8 or 10. we had a reservation and waited almost 2 hours. i don't remember why we bothered waiting, i think someone in our group was late so we had to wait for them anyway. but that place is rediculously crowded on saturday and from my experience they do not honor their reservations. that said, we ended up having a great time. food is good and atmosphere awsome. but the place is tiny and they are too greedy (too crowded). point is, you may be better off elewhere anyway.

When are you planning on going? My sister called there today too and made a reservation for 9:00, but for 11. They said we'd still have to wait though. So Annoying. I still think its a little late though.

I went there for a bachelorette party last Dec and it was soooooooo crowded! There were so many other parties there and I practically had people sitting on my lap waiting to get seated

Yeah, there is no waiting room there. The place is great and you'd definitely have a great time, for a bachelorette party especially, but if that's what they're telling you there are other places to go that will be as fun (Lips and Lucky Chang's being 2 of them).

Honestly I wouldn't be too upset - I have heard from a number of people BAD experiences with them - such as losing ressies for bach parties - I did read a post I think about a year ago on the wedding channel where a bach party went there and they lost their ressies and the owner ended up throwing a drink in the brides face.

I had mine there and although we had a good experience they were very unaccomodating. We had to eat late since we had a certain number of people. We only wound up waiting about 30 minutes although I still think that's rude to make a party wait that long with reservations. But I guess it could have been worse. They are alot of other places to go. I've been to Lips which is alot of fun.

That is crazy that they make people with reservations wait. And that they take people off the street and make those with reservations wait - holy cow how unethical is that? It's like they can't stand to see an empty table for 20 mins that they have to have people sitting at a table all night no matter what? Extremely bad service if you ask me.
I think we are now going to Beni Hana's. Thanks girls...

They are terrible with reservations for large parties. Even if you have reservations, you may end up waiting forever to be seated. I had arranged a bachelorette party 6-7 years ago there and they wouldn't seat us as our party was not all there and when we were all there, they kept us waiting forever (I think they gave away our table) and we walked out and went elsewhere. I have not ever been back and will never go back there as their service is awful and the food's average.

A couple weeks ago I went in person to speak with the manager about hosting a BP there. There were two guys I had to speak with and they were both total jerks. So, I thanked them and went to Eatery instead -- right across 53rd St. The did such a nice job with our party, the food was fantastic and the service was most attentive.
There's positively no need to tolerate bad service.

well yes it kind of is just a restaurant - and a small one at that! but it's a fun place during peak times - basically fri & sat night (maybe thurs too i dunno)- because many big groups go there and there is a loud atmosphere. for example, if it's someone's birthday all the waiters will come around your table with tambourines and the entire restaurant will sing to you while they get you up on your chair. you can imagine how much fun these waiters have with the bachelorette parties!
