Anywhere ever been there? Is it fun..good food? I'm thinking maybe for my bachelorette party we go there for dinner before heading to the donkey show. Thanks

I love it there. I've been there 3 or 4 separate occasions, although never for a bachelorette party. They are sticklers for the reservation time though so make sure your entire party is there by the time or they'll give your table away.

I've been there for a bachelorette party! Lot's of fun...dancing on chairs, singing, etc... Good choice!

I've been there...it is fun, but it is kinda small, and even if you have a reservation, it doesn't matter...you will have to wait a while to get in...I guess it is a great choice for a BP but it sucks if you have made plans afterwards and you are running late....for example, we all paid $30 in advance for my friend's BP to get into a club and drink all you want, but by the time we left Mangia E Bevi, we only had an hour or so at the club before the limo had to come pick us up!!!!!

This looks familiar...I think people commented on it.. On the NWR board...I think it was a post that said fun restuarants in the city

Thanks guys..I looked for the old post on the NWR brd and saw a whole bunch of other restuarants that sound good. Now I'm thinking either LaMela or Puglia both in Little Italy!

I have 2 reviews of this place... I planned a whole big bach party for my friend here, we got limos, had plans to go to donkey show after... I confirmed numerous times and when we showed up they played like they never had our reservation and honestly couldn't care less since they were so busy and would never have been able to honor it anyway. We ended up going to a great cajun restaurant down the block.
On one other occassion I was there for a bach party, it's fun, but too crowded and the food isn't that great. JMO.

LA MELA is the most amazing place. Your table won't go hungry. So authentic Italian- read the Zagat's review. It's great for a group!

La Mela all the way!!!
just had my DH's bday party there... 16 people.. it's the best! so much fun.
They made my DH's bday cake in the shape of boobies.
also planned my BF's bachelorette party there.. La Mela RockS!
Puglia's is fun too- been there for another friend's bachelorette- but I like La Mela's the best.

I've been there, and it is good, but small and cramped if you have a 'party' there. My girlfriend swears by it...!

It's too small.. I went there one time and had people literally leaning on my chair while they were waiting for their table.. we made reservations and still had to wait a while for really nothing too spectacular.. my friend danced on a chair and got a shot.. all in all not worth it...

I like Puglia the best of La Mela, Puglia and Mangi. I have been to all three for group events. Mangi was the worst -- they crowd you in and take forever to seat you and rush you out. I didn't have that experience at the other 2.
